Calling this end-point with overwrite=true is equivalent to using the PATCH HTTP verb instead, and calling it with overwrite=false is equivalent to using the PUT HTTP verb instead.
This end-point is hence only proposed for convenience where your library does not enable you to vary the HTTP verb easily.

Id of an installation if you know it, or alternatively the device platform and device id joined by a colon. Note that an installationId is not a random string and is always used in pair with its associated userId, which you must provide in the userId parameter.
